YARA + DAVINA’s current commissions:
MANIFEST, Policy Lab: MANIFEST, Policy Lab: We are Artists In Residence at Worthing & Adur Council. This is part of the second iteration of MANIFEST, a Policy Lab programme which supports artists, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, to explore how their work can enrich policymaking. We will be speaking at Modern Art Oxford discussing “What role can artists play in local government?” as part of The Sculpture X Policy Lab: Artists, Policymaking and Place.
ORACLES: Over the next few months (from April 2025), we will be collaborating with Prof. Emily Selove, Associate Professor in Medieval Arabia Language and Literature and the Arts and Culture team, both at the University of Exeter (UoE) and national arts agency: Arts + Heritage on a speculative project linked to our ORACLES card deck. This project has been made possible thanks to a UKRI Impact Cultivation Fund.
Be The Change You Want to See, UP Projects and Elysian Residencies: We have just finished working with local residents in Blackheath, London to explore how we embrace and process change. Using semaphore and the art of communicating with flags, we are now developing a proposal for a public artwork for Blackheath.
101 Seedbed Artist Residency: We have been selected for Seedbed 101, which is a funded programme of R&D residencies inviting artists to push the boundaries of work for public spaces. We are developing a new work, in response to Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp.
