Tea for St Helens, Commissioned for Heart Of Glass, November 2019

Making a cuppa is a simple act that can bring people together: familiar, comforting, therapeutic and welcoming. For Tea for St Helens the artists worked with communities in Clock Face, in St Helens over a period of 2 months to develop a special custom tea blend for the town that referenced the needs of the community; from aiding mental health to invigorating people. The custom tea was shared during the month long Heart Of Glass festival, where we served over 150 cups a day, as an act of creating community; a space of gathering that eased social isolation.
